pedantically inclined to know what you know

on further reading of the portrait of a lady and on close inspection of myself, i've come to the conclusion that i must criticize less and understand more. i'm going to sift through what are legitimately stupid people, what are arbitrary observations, and what really needs to be made fun of (about things and people i previously thought stupid and had arbitrary thoughts about and made fun of).
in other paragraphs, we're are just too critical! mostly about people, even if we keep an open mind and are just waiting to be proven wrong, we should be more like dumbledore and love people for their faults, to expect them, to believe they can change them, and use our genius toward something better than recognition and jokes of those faults. i'm going to try to be less impressed by how smart someone is or how passionate they are or how self aware and i sound like a thorough jerk, but josh is the one who wanted jerk on his license plate. speaking of josh, maybe i'll take a lesson from him, for though he is clearly the smartest person around, he accepts, or instead of accepts, maybe just doesnt concern himself, with the beings of others. every time we have a criticism, he will say, "oh i thought he was a nice guy" or something to that extent.
lets give a hurray to josh and henry james and my future, for always being there and encouraging me in the right, though maybe less fun, route.
